Visit Manchester is looking at working with Etihad Airways on a joint promotion to drive tourist traffic from India into Manchester. Speaking exclusively to Express TravelWorld,  Ann Nguyen, marketing manager, Marketing Manchester informed, “India is a key market for us. We already have direct connectivity from India into Manchester on Emirates, Etihad Airways and KLM. To increase tourist numbers, we are in talks with Etihad Airways for working on a joint promotion. This will include online and offline elements, website partnerships, banner advertising and promotions through the travel trade in India.” The joint promotion is expected to be finalised and rolled out in a few months time. Nguyen added that Visit Manchester hopes that the initiative will result in a 5 to 10 per cent increase in tourist arrivals from India. She is part of Visit Britain’s business-to-business travel trade event, Destination Britain & Ireland (DEBI) being held in Bangkok.
