Skyscanner adds online bus ticket booking

Skyscanner in partnership with redBus have announced the launch of a bus ticket booking feature on Skyscanner’s website. With more than 35000 bus routes spread across India and integration with over 1500 bus operators, Skyscanner’s online bus reservation system is all set to make road-travel a seamless and hassle-free experience for Indians. The introduction of the service will also facilitate flight users with easy transfers to India’s smaller cities.

Commenting on the launch, Kavitha Gnanamurthy, senior marketing manager, Skyscanner India, said, “Buses in India are a lifeline for people along with manual and motorised rickshaws. Most of India’s population has travelled by bus and for the 200 plus millions of Indian’s online, our new bus ticket service offers an easier way of booking. Through this initiative we are offering a more complete online travel service and will provide our users a convenient and smart way for domestic and city travel. For us redBus was the obvious choice considering its unmatched reach in the Indian market.”

Users can also choose from the range of available buses like AC, non-AC and sleeper. The new service also boasts flexible payment options and other convenient features where users can cancel bus tickets online in case of any change in their travel plans.
