Parvez Dewan, IAS, presently secretary, ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, will soon take over as secretary, ministry of Tourism from RH Khwaja, IAS. Dewan was previously chairman and managing director of India Tourism Development Corporation from 2006-2009. He has also held positions in the department of tourism in both home cadre, Jammu and Kashmir as well as in the centre cadre. He belongs to the 1977-batch IAS of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) cadre.
Whereas Khwaja, IAS, presently secretary, ministry of Tourism, will take over as secretary, ministry of Mines.
