25th edition of International Kite Festival arrives in Mumbai

The 25th edition of International Kite Festival has arrived in Mumbai for the second consecutive year. Organised by Tourism Corporation of Gujarat, the Mumbai leg of the International Kite Festival, held on January 7, 2013 includes participants from 50 international kitists from different countries like United Kingdom, France, Italy, Singapore, Switzerland, Spain, Netherlands, Brazil, South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Curacao, Ukraine, Israel, China, Belgium, New Zealand, Cambodia, Lithuania and Malaysia

Sharing details on the host of events lined up as part of the 25th edition of International Kite Festival, Kamlesh Patel, chairman, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat, said, “This year we will witness a milestone as we celebrate the Silver Jubilee edition of Gujarat’s flagship event- the International Kite Festival. This year’s festival will be bigger than ever, covering nine different locations including Ahmedabad, Delhi and several new destinations like Modhera, Dhordo(White Rann), Somnath as well as the beautiful Mandvi beach. The International Kite Festival is an opportunity to witness the rich and vibrant culture of Gujarat.”

The itinerary of the International Kite Festival this year will cover Delhi, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Saputara, Dhordo(White Rann), Modhera, Somnath and Mandvi. The festival will culminate in Ahmedabad, at the Sabarmati River Front on January 12 &13, 2013.
