Safran and Bharat Forge tie up to tap opportunities in Indian aerospace

Global Aerospace, Defence, and Security leader Safran, and one of India’s leading hightechnology components company, Bharat Forge, have announced the start of a long-term partnership to supply critical high integrity forged and machined components, for commercial aircraft applications to Safran’s global affiliates. The first step of this partnership is a purchase order issued today by Safran.

Over the past 18 months, Safran and Bharat Forge have successfully worked on a demonstrator phase for initial trial production of critical forgings in a variety of materials, including titanium, nickel based and steel alloys, for aerospace. This success is the result of intensive engineering and manufacturing collaboration. Both companies will also seek to explore and address other opportunities in Indian aerospace for civil and military sectors.

According to Stephane Lauret, CEO, Safran India, “This latest development reflects our two companies’ commitment to expanding our collaboration for the benefit of our customers in India and abroad.”
