ICPB organises 7th Conventions India MICE Conclave this August

The seventh ‘Conventions India’ – MICE Conclave, is being organised by India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB) from August 20-21, 2012 at India Expo Centre, Greater Noida, Delhi NCR. Its main objective is to bring together potential new conference planners, incentive organisers, tour operators, service providers, etc, to one platform providing networking opportunities and also gaining new business.

Concurrent with the convention, IT & CM India is also being organised in collaboration with ICPB, from August 21-23, 2012, where the Indian exhibitors will have an opportunity to showcase their products to around 200 international buyers and exhibitors.

The conclave will be inaugurated by Subodh Kant Sahay, minister of Tourism, government of India, on August 20, 2012. Martin Sirk, CEO, International Congress and Convention Association would deliver the keynote address on ‘Challenges that prevent India from realising its meeting potential and suggestions to overcome them’. At the event, speakers and panelists from various segments of MICE will share a wealth of information which would facilitate in attracting an increasing number of conferences to India and organising the same efficiently. Some of the topics expected to be covered are: ‘Marketing India as a convention destination’, ‘Role of government for the growth and development of the Indian convention industry’, ‘Relevance of new technology in meetings industry’, ‘Growth and  challenges for organising very big conventions/ exhibitions in India’.

Further, for the first time, there would be a special programme for students to get the inside track on meetings industry, under the Future Leaders Forum.
