The Ultimate Travelling Camp (TUTC) will soon be traversing from the terrain of Ladakh and set foot in Nagaland to welcome travellers at its Kohima Camp, nestled in a secluded forested area and hills. This expedition coincides with The Hornbill Festival, the largest celebration of the indigenous warrior tribes of Nagaland where 16 tribes of the north-eastern state of India converge to show their distinctive cultures.

Introducing the concept of “glamping” or luxury camping to discerning travellers, TUTC’s Kohima camp enables travellers to immerse themselves in the comforts of luxury, while witnessing the vibrant and unique festivities of the Hornbill festival. The camp is operational for a limited period of 14 days, from November 16 to December 12, 2016. Travellers can select and customise their trips from an array of selected itineraries; from two nights, three nights, four nights and five nights packages, starting from INR 1,16,000 per person (on double sharing) for two nights.

Travellers can enjoy local rice beer, tribal recipes, folk dance and songs, events like climbing a greased bamboo pole or chilli eating contests, and visit the Kohima World War II Cemetery.

These exclusive camps offer services such as Wi-Fi, 24/7 security and paramedic on site, 24/7 electricity, boutique and library, and a personal butler. Each tent has an ensuite bathroom with access to 24 hours running hot and cold water. Each tent has a soft focus of desert colours with colonial furniture reminiscent of the British Raj. Culinary options at the camps include regional, Indian and international cuisine.
