Let’s travel together.

Trekurious[dot]com launches operations in Mumbai

Trekurious.com have commenced their operations in Mumbai with Rishi Desai, renowned Masterchef Australia former contestant, to host a decadent experience. Trekurious operates at the confluence of two undeniable trends: people are spending more on experiential travel and on entertainment. It is often the same people doing both. To us this means that people increasingly looking for and spending on fun and immersive experiences, both at home and when they travel. Finding these experiences is another thing altogether. It often demands memberships of expensive clubs and societies, or the services of expensive boutique travel agencies. Location also limits access. India having no Michelin-starred restaurants is one such example.

By democratising access across multiple cities, Trekurious will build a brand that is easily identifiable with high quality experiences. The people who flock to us will be mobile and discerning and so our global presence will allow us to serve their need to have a great time both in their home city and when they travel.

Not only is the food a work of art, it is also presented at Delhi Art Gallery, one of the city’s most renowned art institutions. Simple ingredients are paired and manipulated imaginatively to create four-course meal that has its roots in the Indian culinary history but a treatment that is entirely global. Desai does not believe in hearty curries and heavy spices. In his competent hands, landmark Indian favorites will be deconstructed and put together in entirely new formats, paired with modern sauces but spiced with ancient flavours. A modest fish curry becomes salmon poached in coconut milk served with coconut veloute and even the palak paneer will be reborn as a cottage cheese roulade with spinach sauce and toasted mini baguettes. Desai’s challenge is to change the way one think about Indian food.

Delhi Art Gallery, the venue for this indulgent experience, is one of the largest repositories of 20th century Indian art, not just in India but around the world. By partnering with Trekurious.com for this event, the Gallery supports the belief that art is all around us– be it on the walls or on a plate, in the form of the finest gastronomical experiences.
