OTOAI signs MoU with ETOA

ETW StaffMumbai

OTOAI has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ETOA in order to mutually promote and support an Indian contingent of around 20 pax at MAMA 2015– the March marketplace,

in UK.

ETOA is the leading trade association for tour operators and suppliers with business in European destinations. Nearly 700 members contribute more than €12bn of business to Europe and include tour and online operators, intermediaries and wholesalers; European tourist boards, hotels, attractions and other tourism suppliers.

ETOA offers an unparalleled networking / contracting platform for tourism professionals by organising B2B events (MAMA, City Fair, GEM, HEM). The organisation provides advocacy support on a European level, high profile industry campaigns and B2B marketing representation opportunities; all in

order to promote Europe as a number one tourism destination.

OTOAI and their members will benefit by accessing established annual events ‘free of charge’, sourcing European and UK products. ETOA will benefit by opening a new market to members and offering new buyers for their event attendees. OTOAI and ETOA will create seminars and/or educational sessions for their members to share information and issues which may hinder business being realised.

OTOAI will through a relevant pre-selection process, identify 20 – 30 tour operator members actively interested in furthering business to London, Ireland and the rest of UK; for attending MAMA 15.

The buyers will fly to London with an OTOAI partner airline for MAMA. The process is on for determining the best deal for this. Attendance at the event will be complimentary for OTOAI’s

buyers. (Membership of ETOA which enables attendance of their events costs GBP 1,000 annually.)

ETOA will work at organising complimentary accommodation in London for two nights during MAMA for around 20 OTOAI buyers. ETOA will also work with regional destinations to arrange post Fam trips for the OTOAI buyers in order that they may get further exposure to the UK regional products.

ETOA and OTOAI will host an educational ‘Indian Market’ immersion session on March 17, 2015. The session will aim to address any business issues and for OTOAI to impart their expertise to help suppliers understand the nuances of doing business in India and its unique market dynamics.
