IndiGo adds Kozhikode as its 37th destination

IndiGo, India’s low-cost airline has announced the addition of Kozhikode as its 32nd domestic and 37th overall destination in its network. The 2015 schedule introduces six new daily non-stop flights including new daily non-stop flights between Kozhikode and Dubai, daily non-stop flights between Kozhikode and Mumbai, daily flights between Kozhikode and Delhi (via Mumbai) and 15th daily non-stop flight between Delhi and Mumbai. With this, effective December 15, 2014, 6E will also launch daily non-stop flight between Bengaluru and Dubai. This will be the first International flight by the carrier out of Bengaluru.

Speaking on the launch of the ticket sale of new flights and the addition of the new destination, Aditya Ghosh, president, IndiGo said, “2014 has been a landmark year for us with us winning the prestigious Airbus Excellence Award – a first for an Indian airline – to placing our order of firm 250 A-320 and inducting our 100th aircraft. We are extremely pleased about adding Kozhikode as our 37th destination of operations. The new international flights are testimony of our commitment to the international operations and hope the new flights from Kozhikode and Bengaluru to Dubai will prove to be successful with our passengers.”

Ghosh further added, “The state of Kerala has always been an important part of our destination network and our operations from the third city in the state is testimony to the good prospect for both inbound and outbound business and leisure travellers apart from the students belonging to the region in the metros. We are committed to providing maximum connectivity from Kerala on our network by catering to various segments and we are confident that these additional services will prove immensely popular with our passengers. We are planning to increase the connectivity to other destinations and expand our operations with additional flights.”
