INR 21,999 is average spent on domestic family holiday: report

Goibibo.com has released its monthly travel report derived from live buyer data. The latest report covers facts about domestic holiday consumption pattern in India. As per the report average price spent on a holiday for a family of three this year was INR 21,999. Jammu and Kashmir region leads the pack at INR 38,577 spend followed by Kerala and Andaman. Holiday in Uttarkhand region is the most economical at INR 9,995. The preferred tourist destinations in Uttarkhand are Mussoorie, Nainital, Lansdowne and Corbett.

In terms of volume of holidayers, Goa continues to be a favorite destination with an average spend of INR 22,658. This is followed by Uttarkhand, Kerala and J&K. Andaman though at the bottom is fast emerging. The most preferred package duration is four nights/ five days with 33 per cent travellers opting for the same. The average number of days taken by a buyer to finalise the travel plan after showing interest is 16 days. The buyer’s decision is influenced by some obvious factors like price, package inclusions, intra-city transfers and weather.
