The UNIGLOBE Travel (South Asia) Region conducted its 7th Annual Excellence Awards and Regional Conference recently. The theme for the two day event was ‘Go for Gold’ that brought together UNIGLOBE Travel owners, managers, and frontline personnel from 41 locations across India, Sri Lanka and South Africa. The conference also marked the 10 year anniversary of UNIGLOBE Travel in South Asia.

Over 250 UNIGLOBE professionals attended the annual event which saw the delivery of the new UNIGLOBE mobile website. The event was also the platform for the launch of UNIGLOBE Trips  – a complete marketing and sales programme for accelerating leisure travel sales for the franchise members. Michelle Desreux, COO and executive director, UNIGLOBE Travel South Asia said, “Our theme was particularly relevant in today’s corporate travel environment. Corporate clients expect the ‘best’ fares and rates, increasingly rich reporting, evidence of savings and delivery of expert customer service. Through experiential sessions conducted by internationally renowned experts, our conference highlighted how our people can explore their personal creativity and bring it into their business life to help save their clients and agency staff, time, money and trouble – whether online, face-to-face or over the phone”

“Our agencies found the conference sessions to be extremely beneficial and appreciated the opportunity to network with Suppliers. And as always, this event could not have happened without the support and participation of our suppliers including Amadeus, Tata AIG, Singapore Airlines, Air Canada, Roam1, SpiceJet and Goa Tourism” said Ritika Modi, regional president, UNIGLOBE Travel South Asia.

Six awards for top-level sales and revenue growth achievements were given to UNIGLOBE agencies in the South Asia region. Also awarded were top performing agency personnel for continually pushing the benchmark of excellence higher. The awards include recognition for counselors, managers, sales, accounts, leisure and facilitation personnel at various levels of performance assessment.
