Bangladeshi tourists over 65-yrs will get 5-yr Indian visa

India has decided to increase the duration of tourist visa for Bangladeshi tourists over 65-years of age to five years from the present one year, in order to enhance bi-lateral relations with the neighbouring country.

A Home Ministry statement issued in this regard said while the duration of the visa has been enhanced from one year to five years it will have multiple entry facility for Bangladeshi tourists falling in this age bracket.

“The decision has been taken in pursuance of government’s stated policy for easing of visa norms for promotion of tourism. Indian Missions in Bangladesh will henceforth extend this facility to the Bangladeshi applicants.

“This initiative of the government will further strengthen the bilateral relationship between India and Bangladesh and intensify people to people contact. The long pending issue has thus been resolved to the satisfaction of all stakeholders,” the statement said.
