‘We are looking to increase our flight frequency and fly more routes in India’

What have been the key milestones for Turkish Airlines since you started operations in India?

Adnan Aykac

Turkish Airlines has been in India for over nine years now and has gained increasing popularity in the recent years. With a view to serve our Indian customers better, we have not only started our independent office in Gurgaon but have also introduced an India specific website for our users. In addition to this, Turkish Airlines recently launched its India centric online properties on popular social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Pinterest. These measures have been taken with a view to be more accessible to our fliers and keep them abreast of all our activities and developments.

What kind of growth have you witnessed in the last few years? Your growth expectations in the future?

Turkish Airlines witnessed remarkable growth in the recent years and has further enhanced its services in the year 2011. One of our key achievements last year was being awarded by Skytrax as ‘Best Airline Europe’. We are happy to inform you that Turkish Airlines also played an important role in increasing the ratio in aviation industry of Turkey. We also launched our new A330-300 on the Indian routes last year with services like never before. The New Business Class of Turkish Airlines offers fliers outstanding luxuries like fully reclinable flat beds for comfort and a seat pitch of 61 inches. It also provides a new and improved in-flight entertainment system to ensure passengers have an enjoyable journey. We have high expectations from the Indian market and would be looking at expanding in this region and flying more routes in the near future to capitalise on the great potential this country offers.

How significant is the India market for you in your global strategy?

A budding country like India has a lot to offer and we would love to leverage the untapped potential in this region.

What are your expansion plans in this market any new routes/ additional frequency?

Turkish Airlines currently operates 14 weekly flights to Istanbul from Delhi and Mumbai. Given the high-demand and great potential in this region, we are also looking at starting new destinations in the country and also increasing our flight frequency in the near future.

How do you differentiate your brand vis-a-vis other Middle East airlines for the Indian clientele?

Since Turkish Airlines has it’s headquarter in Istanbul which is considered the natural hub of the world due to its strategic location, it is a convenient option for travellers, especially for long haul flights. With more than 200 destinations across the globe, the airline not only offers passengers great connectivity but also unmatched deals and services.

Also, the fleet of Turkish Airlines has new and advanced aircraft ensuring supreme comfort for fliers. Turkish Airlines recently also undertook some marketing campaigns to reach out to  Indian customers and engage with them. As Turkish Airlines is the national flag carrier of Turkey, its growing popularity as a MICE and leisure destination has also helped us gain extraordinary momentum and popularity in India.

Turkish Airlines is the perfect combination of nominal rates and supreme services. We believe in offering the best deals to our fliers without burdening their pockets. What makes Turkish Airlines stand out amongst other airlines is the fact that it brings you the best of both Asia and Europe.
