Sudhanshu SinghRamee Group of Hotels is launching its sixth hotel in India with Ramee Grand in Pune this April. The hotel group that has created a niche in the three and four-star category has forayed into the five star segment with its Pune property. Ramee Group will launch its next property in Indore after six months and is also looking at cities like Nagpur, Nashik, Surat and Baroda. “We are focusing on the Deccan cities and are looking at buying land for our new projects,” said Sudhanshu Singh, director, Ramee Group of Hotels.

The company is aiming for another five to six properties in the next five years and is open to management contract and JVs. “So far all the properties in India are owned by us, but now we will do management contract also. Now we are changing our league and entering the five-star space,” stated Singh. He pointed out that the Ramee Grand is the only five star in Deccan Gymkhana locality in Pune. The 88 keys hotel has three F&B outlets. When asked on how does the company plan to counter stiff competition in a city that has been witnessing over supply of room inventory for sometime now, Singh said, “We are the only five-star hotel in the area that has seven-eight three star properties and our rates are only marginally higher. Besides, we have a lot of banqueting space to fulfil the requirements of residential conferences.” He also added that the company has a good marketing team and regional sales services.

The other projects that are being launched in the Middle East include Ramee Royal Hotel Seeb in Oman, Ramee Grand Hotel Seef in Bahrain, Ramee Grand Hotel – Abu Dhabi, Ramee Residence – Dubai, Ramee Grand Hotel Business Bay – Dubai.
