Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine, is one of the oldest cities of Eastern Europe. Kiev4u.com, a travel agency headquartered in Kiev, with an office in Ahmedabad, has been focused on promoting tourism between Ukraine and Gujarat. “We are a travel company for promoting Gujarat in Ukraine and visa versa. We celebrated the first official Gujarati Day in Ukraine on October 26, 2012,” said Katerina Lishchuk, general manager, Kiev4u.

World Tourism Organisation had placed Ukraine as the eighth largest European destination. The main destinations being promoted for Gujarati travellers are Kiev, Odessa (sea port) and Lviv. “We have a green country and it is a great destination for families. There are many shopping options. We have the Black Sea, mountains, beaches and many Indian restaurants,” stated Lishchuk. The best time to visit Ukraine is May to September.

Kiev4u has also been promoting Gujarat as a destination in Ukraine, particularly for the winter months. “We have created itineraries for places like Sasangir and Somnath. People usually travel during the months of winter when the temperature is -10 degrees. So we offer them to visit some exotic destinations in India,” she mentioned, remembering to point out that there are a lot of cultural and geographical similarities between Ukraine and Gujarat – for instance Kiev, the capital of Ukraine is divided into two parts (old and new), like Ahmedabad.

The agency is also engaged in cultural exchange programmes between Ukraine and Gujarat.
