TAAI signs MOU with South African Tourism

South African Tourism and Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) signed a MOU for promoting tourism to South Africa by conducting the Learn South Africa Program more successfully. The Schedule 6 of the program shall be conducted in association with TAAI in over 15 cities of India. “This endeavour of ‎India’s premier and largest tourism association (TAAI) to educate their members on products and facilities the destination offers, shall enhance the agents abilities to grow their business effectively,” stated Harmandeep Singh Anand, hon. secretary general, TAAI.

The MOU was signed in Mumbai recently by Alpa Jani, manager – Trade Relations, South African Tourism and Jay Bhatia, chairman – Tourism Council, TAAI. The workshops will be held across India from July 13 to August 4, 2015. Participants will be awarded certificates for the Learn South Africa Program and they will also qualify for a FAM trip to South Africa organised by the tourism board.

“This program shall give the trade colleagues a platform to learn, interact and network with the suppliers, hotels, local trade from South Africa under one platform so as to boost their skills and business opportunities,” stated Bhatia.

“This collaboration with South African Tourism is one of the first in the series of tie-ups that TAAI has embarked upon for educating the trade on destination promotion. Similar tie-ups with ‎other tourism bodies, national as well as international, are on the anvil,” mentioned Lokesh Bettaiah, co-chairman, Tourism Council, TAAI.
