Let’s travel together.

RIP Maggie White

Maggie White, Tourism Australia’s former general manager for South East Asia and Gulf countries passed away recently in Australia.

The last interview with Express TravelWorld before she left India:

‘I have spent a decade interacting with travel agents from India and it has been an enjoyable and enriching journey’

Heena Munshaw, managing director, Beacon Holidays pays tribute to Maggie White

The news came as I was driving home that Maggie White is no more. The sparkling personality which lit up every room when she entered is no more between us. We saw her as a face of Australian Tourism, and she became friends to everyone she crossed her paths with. Be it work be it the highest level or be that the smallest person. Her warmth and enthusiasm for life touched everyone. She inspired everyone. She was more fit than many young people. Her passion for travel was unmatched . She not only loved her country but all countries in Asia as much. She climbed Himalayas and went to the Dharavi tour in Mumbai. We travelled together to Ajanta caves. I have been so fortunate to have her in my life. I met her in Melbourne after she retired, every time I visited. She volunteered for tourism. I salute her soul . There are so many of the tourism trade who have been influenced by my friend and Maggie’s magic will always be in our hearts.

Her funeral is on July 1, 2015 in Ballarat and we hope our Trade will pay tribute to her. On behalf of our travel fraternity, we pay our condolences to her family and her extended family around the world. REST IN PEACE. We will remember you fondly always. Love u Maggie, you left us too soon.
