PM Modi to inaugurate first edition of GET-INDIA

The Honourable Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has consented to be part of the first edition of ‘Global Exhibition on Tourism’ branded as GET-INDIA, scheduled from April 23- 25, 2015. GET-INDIA, a B2B travel trade mart, is being organised as part of the first ‘Global Exhibition on Services’ (GES) aimed at showcasing country’s potential in tourism and five other sectors in order to position India as a leader in Services sector.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate GES on April 23, 2015 following which, he will visit the GET-INDIA pavilion for a closer look of a sector that he has repeatedly hailed for its socio-economic benefit and has emerged as the most dynamic and vocal ambassador not only in India but everywhere he has visited including the US, Japan, Australia and other countries.

Sarab Jit Singh, chairman of GET-INDIA and vice chairman of FAITH said, “This Clearly indicates Prime Minister Modi’s commitment and belief towards the contribution of the tourism industry in raising the level of ‘Brand India’ and uplifting India’s socio-economic prosperity as part of his government’s ‘Five Ts’ plan. This is also for the first time in India that a Prime Minister has consented to visit a travel exhibition, amply underlining the Government’s interest in leveraging country’s tourism potential from the highest level. Our words would fail in describing how important is this landmark and how much good it augurs for India tourism as well as the future editions of GET-INDIA in pushing India’s tourism interests.”

Spread over 4500 square metres of space at Hall No. 11 in Pragati Maidan, GET-INDIA will showcase India’s diverse tourism products from across the country. Around 150 exhibitors including State Tourism Boards, leading hotel chains, DMCs, IRCTC, luxury tourist trains among others, will showcase their products to about 200 pre-selected international buyers from across the globe.
