Greece and Turkey are doing particularly well as emerging destinations, with passenger volumes from the state making up nearly 30 per cent of our top three destinations during the peak summer holiday season. Gujarati travellers, especially in non-metro centres, have also shown an increasing propensity to spend on their holidays. Across Gujarat, average spends on domestic holidays increased 25 per cent this summer compared to last year. Average passenger spends in non-metros grew in strong double-digits- 42 per cent for Surat, 33 per cent for Rajkot, and 24 per cent for Baroda, while the increase in Ahmedabad was nine per cent.”

Popular international holiday destinations for tourists from Gujarat include Thailand, Greece and Turkey and Europe while a majority of domestic tourists opt for Kashmir, Goa and Himachal Pradesh.
