Korea MICE Expo (KME) 2015, organised at KINTEX Exhibition Centre, Gyeonggi-do province earlier this month saw the presence of over 300 exhibitors, 400 domestic and international buyers and 4000 plus visitors. More than 10 Indian buyers attended the expo and got the opportunity to meet all regional tourism boards and a variety of destination management companies (DMCs), hotels, attractions and professional conference organisers. The three-day expo included a welcome reception, pre scheduled B2B appointments and a host of activities. Apart from the expo, the Indian buyers also  visited Seoul, Kyeongju and Busan as a part of the post tour programme.

The Indian contingent had prominent names from the industry namely Cox & Kings, InOrbit Travels, Dove Travels, Jay Travels Mumbai, Frontier Holidays, Bliss Travel, Classic Travel, Landmark Tours and corporates from Max Life Insurance and Microlabs.

Korea has been one of the top MICE destinations and this annual expo will assist it in further strengthening its stand in the industry. The Indian market is one of the top potential markets in Asia and KTO is actively involved in promoting its MICE business.

“I am pleased with the growing interest of Indian travel agents and corporates for Korea. This platform gave them the opportunity to directly contact the sellers and also get a glimpse of what Korea has to offer. We would like to have a larger delegation from India next year and encourage all our partners to actively promote Korea MICE. We offer full support in facilitating MICE group travel to Korea,” said Byungsun Lee – director, Korea Tourism Organization in India.
