Tigerair adds two new weekly flights on Singapore-Chennai route

Tigerair, Singapore-based budget carrier has announced the expansion of its service between Chennai and Singapore. The airline has added two additional weekly flights on this route that will ensure more convenience for travellers from and to the city. This move is part of Tigerair’s commitment to the meet the ever increasing demand from travellers and India’s growth strategy of strengthening the existing network. Tigerair currently operates seven weekly flights between Chennai and Singapore. Beginning December 4, 2014, Tigerair will operate two additional weekly flights between Chennai and Singapore.
The first additional fight will depart Singapore on Thursday at 23:00 hours local time and arrive into Chennai on Friday at 01:15 hours local time. While the second flight will depart Singapore on Saturday at 07:40 hours and arrive in Chennai at 09:15 hours.
Commenting on the increase in frequency, Robert Yang, commercial director, Tigerair said, “It has been our constant endeavour to provide convenience to our passengers. The decision to increase frequencies to Chennai is in line with the upsurge in travel demand. The increased flights will give travellers from India a greater option and opportunity to visit Singapore. The rise in the middle income groups, youth and vacationers who are increasingly choosing to experience destination Singapore on Tigerair flights, is another reason contributing to the flight additions. We are confident that this expansion will enhance travel options and thereby contribute to the growth in tourism for both countries.”
