Jaipur Kite Festival

The annual kite festival is being organised by the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan on the occasion of ‘Makar Sankranti’ on January 14, at the Jal Mahal Ki Pal in Jaipur. Visitors can enjoy colourful kites in a variety of shapes and sizes during the day, whereas the celebration will feature fireworks in the evening alongside kites with lights in them, brightening the city’s skyline. Over the years, this festival has become an attraction for the people of Jaipur and also for the tourists visiting the city. The tourism department has also organised events like exhibition of kites, demonstration of fancy kites as well as a kite flying competition. The kites and the string will be available for the tourists who want to fly kites. Cultural performances by the local folk artists will also be an attraction, alongside traditional cuisine and camel rides.
