Let’s travel together.

Petersburg, Alaska

Petersburg, an island community in Alaska makes its living from the sea. Blessed with three beautiful harbours which attract pleasure boats, private yachts and smaller cruise ships, this thriving fishing village has a history deeply rooted in Norwegian heritage. The summer feeding grounds of thousands of humpback whales, the Stikine-LeConte Wilderness Area and the splendid LeConte Glacier which calves off tons of bright blue icebergs are must visits for every tourist here. Visitors can also take the flightseeing option where you enter the lush wilderness of the Tongass National Forest along with an experienced Alaska bush pilot. You can land on a mountain lake and view the expanse of glaciers and wildlife. One can also participate in the 60th celebrations of the Norwegian Constitution Day with the Little Norway Festival that will happen during May 17-20 this year. Young and old dress up in folk costumes and the Vikings and Valkyries indulge in art events and cuisines which ranges from traditional Alaskan Native and Petersburg’s seafood to fine Norwegian delicacies.
