The fashion capital of the world, Milan is Italy’s second populous city and the capital of the Lombardy region. Milan’s fashion streets are lined with designer shops from Gucci to Calvin Klein and one can find here the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, one of the world’s oldest shopping malls. The city is also home to the fifth largest cathedral in the world, the Duomo (Milan Cathedral) and the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie which houses the famous Last Supper painting of Leonardo da Vinci. Milan is playing host to Expo Milano 2015, a universal exposition with the theme, Feeding The Planet, Energy for Life. Just two hours away by train is Turin where the exposition of the iconic Shroud of Turin is open and will run until June 24, 2015.
