Dhanushkodi

DhanushkodiKnown as the only land border between India and Srilanka, Dhanushkodi is the southernmost tip of Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu. A ghost town today, it was abandoned in 1964 after a devastating cyclone destroyed the area. One of the most famous attractions here is Adam’s Bridge, also known as Rama Bridge or Rama Setu. This bridge has a high religious significance in Hinduism. Other popular places to visit are Dhanushkodi Beach, Pamban Island and the Gulf of Mannar Marine National Park.
