Chittorgarh Fort, Rajasthan is considered to be one of the largest forts in India in terms of area. The fort complex comprises of 65 historic built structures, among them are four palace complexes, 19 main temples, four memorials and 20 functional water bodies. The ascent to the fort passes through seven gateways built by the Mewar ruler Rana Kumbha of the Sisodia clan. These gates are called, the Paidal Pol, Bhairon Pol, Hanuman Pol, Ganesh Pol, Jorla Pol, Laxman Pol, and Ram Pol. This fort was attacked three times and every time it got saved by the daring heroism of the Rajput warriors.
