Let’s travel together.

Largest island in Canada

Baffin Island is the largest island in Canada in Nunavut Territory and the fifth largest island in the world. It’s part of the Arctic Archipelago, with Greenland to its east across Baffin Bay and Quebec Province across the Hudson Strait to its south. No roads lead to Nunavut, so the only way to reach Baffin Island is to fly. Mount Thor, officially called the Thor Peak, in Auyuittuq National Park, on Baffin Island is a granite peak that features the world’s tallest purely vertical drop. The drop measures 1250 m and angles inwards at 105 degrees making it more of an overhang. Baffin Island offers visitors unique experiences such as viewing polar bears, the Northern Lights, dog sled tours and kayaking between ice flows.
