India Tourism, Kolkata organises road show for NE tour operators

In its efforts to promote tourism in the unexplored ‘North-Eastern’ states of the country, India Tourism, Kolkata recently organised a roadshow for tour operators of the North Eastern states in Kolkata. Tour operators from Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura interacted with officials of ministry of tourism, Government of India, tour operators and travel agents from West Bengal. The delegates also discussed about policy issues, marketing initiatives, individual branding and promotion exercises for the North East.

Speaking on the occasion, DK Baruah, regional director, India Tourism, Kolkata said, “This was an ideal marketing opportunity for tour operators of the North-East of India in the eastern region.”

Sanjay Singh, assistant director general, ministry of tourism, Government of India said, “The ministry of tourism will continue to organise such platforms which will help the tourism business to reach out and connect to different parts and organisation of the
country.”
