Chiang Mai is Thailand’s second largest province and goes back a long way. The 720 year old province is home to the ancient kingdom of Lanna for which the Thai government is working towards getting it certified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Referred to as ‘the rose of the north’, Chiang Mai is situated in Northern Thailand. Chiang Mai is famous for its attractions like the Tiger Kingdom, day/ night zoo safari, limestone caves, abseiling, dragon boat river rides, orchid and butterfly farms. Chiang Mai is also home to many ancient temples (Wats) and heritage buildings.
